The weather has turned cold here again, and I’ve gotten a little ways into the rewrite of PH chapter 11, where Duncan is about to encounter a couple of unpleasant surprises. If that doesn’t sound like much forward progress, I’ve also been going back and re-rewriting some of what I did before – restructuring the early chapters, where and how the scene breaks happen, to make the story flow better. That’s something I should’ve already done. But, as those of you who’ve been following these posts probably know, I wasn’t at the top of my game back then.
Fortunately, I’ve still got a third round of revision and polishing to go, and I can keep changing things until I make this book as good as it needs to be to please me. And hopefully you too. Unfortunately, that also means I’m unlikely to finish Slowpocalypse Book 5 in time to release it before the end of the year. Barring a miracle – which wouldn’t surprise me a bit – it’s beginning to look like I won’t publish this until January.
