The heat and humidity are certainly slowing me down, but I’m still plugging along. I’m about 20% of the way through the first draft of Watchbearers Book 5, and it’s already surprising me. But the rewrite of Slowpocalypse Book 5 is moving sluggishly.
I haven’t finished the first chapter yet, but I want to take my time with it anyway. I’ve got a new setting to establish and a new cast of characters to introduce, and I need to do that thoroughly enough so you can keep up. But also unobtrusively, so you’re pulled straight into the story without getting bogged down by details. Then things should roll along smoothly.
Also this week, I got great new reviews of Starting the Slowpocalypse and Peripheral Encounters from a reader named Dusty. It’s always gratifying to see someone’s been enjoying my books. And it helps keep me going.
